Internet Traffic
The world's monthly internet traffic is reaching 100 exabytes this year. 1 exabyte = 1000 petabytes = 1000000 terabytes = 10^9 gigabytes = 10^18 bytes. For the past 25 years, on average, we have doubled our internet traffic every year. If we maintain this pace, we will need the infrastructure to support more than 8000 exabytes per month by 2020.
